In this role you will gain unique exposure to a sector-leading business alongside an accomplished legal team. You will provide timely, risk informed, preventative and commercially relevant legal advice to the business on a broad range of matters including key commercial, projects, construction / deconstruction and property contracts, general advice on planning or regulatory matters, organisational governance and compliance requirements and the avoidance and/or management of disputes.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, therefore you don’t have to live in the South West of England. As long as you’re able to travel to the office 2/3 days a week to collaborate with your team and stakeholders, you can be based anywhere in the UK.

We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively. Joseph Bailey, Paralegal says “The team is eager to push a positive work life balance in all regards – this is something which is led by the management team. I have regular catchups with my line manager to discuss ongoing matters and to raise any concerns around capacity – these are incredibly helpful and mean that I am able to maintain a good work life balance even during busy periods.”

The Role

You’ll have a broad range of responsibilities but will have specialist experience in projects, commercial law and the energy sector will provide a distinct advantage. You’ll be confident collaborating with the complete range of seniority across the business and experienced in planning and managing complex legal matters simultaneously with responsive, succinct and pragmatic day-to-day advice.

You’ll have a proactive, can-do approach and strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risk, risk mitigations and present suitable options to the business balancing risk and reward. You’ll also have great attention to detail, providing highly pragmatic legal advice in the context of an established, commercial and operational business.

If you have relevant post qualification experience as a solicitor admitted in England and Wales with well-rounded legal knowledge and drafting skills in commercial, contractual and / or regulatory law then we’d love to hear from you! We have a full job description available and you can request this at application stage if you would like to view it.
