The Opportunity
Independent Nuclear Assurance (INA) comprises small teams on each of our nuclear sites and larger teams forming a central capability. INA personnel provide independent assessments of company compliance with its nuclear, radiological and industrial safety, security and environmental obligations, organisational capability and whether they are operating in a manner that promotes high levels of performance – INA is an “internal regulator”.
Within this role, you will be providing regulation and insights to a changing organisation across areas key to successful operation of our nuclear fleet. You will also lead surveillances of the central technical and safety organisations as well as at the nuclear stations.
We are flexible about where you are based for this role, but there will be some travel across the fleet required, primarily to Gloucester.

What you’ll be doing
Your primary role as a Central Evaluator will include:
- Developing insights to influence senior leaders to take action to improve performance and compliance issues in Central Support Functions (CSF) and across the nuclear fleet.
- Leading surveillance teams across the stations and CSF to provide effective oversight in the topics you lead.
- Managing multiple streams of unrelated work to provide oversight in topics of expertise.
- Providing an interface with external regulators and the organisation.
- Building a network across the fleet and central organisation of leaders to support successful delivery of difficult messages.
- Leading or supporting other regulatory activities across the fleet and central functions.
Who you are
To be considered for this role, you will have either an HNC, higher-level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
An INA Central Evaluator is someone who is experienced at thinking independently, developing insights and influencing the organisation at all levels. You must be able to deliver hard messages in a way that causes the organisation to take action. Additionally, experience working with a regulatory agency is an advantage.
You must have experience with organisational capability management through Human Resources, Management of Change, Leadership Development or Performance Improvement (Training or Organisational Learning) in a regulated industry. Ideally, you will have led or been a key member of an organisational change in a large technical organisation.
