Gloucester Business Park (Gloucester) or Atlantic Quay (Glasgow). Hybrid, flexible working arrangements to be discussed, depending on location and post.

Are you early in your professional cyber career and looking for a new opportunity? Do you want to be part of a team working towards Britain Achieving Net Zero? Do you have or are you working towards key cyber qualifications? Are you looking for a career, that is rewarding, and where you can really make a difference?

If so, we have a role for you!

The Opportunity

We have several opportunities to join our growing Cyber Security & Assurance Information Branch within Nuclear Services. EDF Nuclear Services is a specialised technical area that supports every stage of nuclear projects like Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC), as well as our existing power stations and decommissioning sites.

It's an exciting time to be part of this expanding area!

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be joining industry-leading teams and can take on roles in the following areas:

Incident Response: This team ensures our nuclear power stations and new nuclear projects are prepared to handle cyber security incidents. You'll help run training sessions, exercises, and lead technical IT and OT (Control & Instrumentation) responses to real cyber incidents.

Cyber Assurance: Here, you’ll be part of a team that focuses on auditing and delivering internal assurance for EDF’s cyber security controls across IT and OT, using frameworks like NIST, NCSC’s CAF, and ISO 27000-series. You’ll also audit EDF’s suppliers to ensure cyber risks in our supply chain are managed effectively.

Cyber Operations & Risk: This team integrates risk management across EDF’s nuclear businesses, handling issues and events, collaborating with IT teams, and supporting cyber security training, culture, and threat intelligence for our active defences.

Cyber Requirements: In this team, you’ll set compliance standards for cyber security and track improvements. You’ll also provide vital support to our information security officers, helping EDF stay ahead of risks in a fast-moving environment.

Who you are

You should have a relevant cyber qualification and hands-on experience in cyber risk analysis, reporting, controls assessment, or audit. You’re naturally inquisitive and driven to make an impact from day one. Alongside your cyber expertise, you're great with people and can easily work with various stakeholders who share our mission to keep EDF safe.

You know your way around external cyber standards and procedures, ideally with experience in UK Critical National Infrastructure.

You should bring strong skills in risk assessment, data analysis, and both verbal and written communication. You’re a multitasker who thrives in balancing priorities, working independently and as part of a team, while influencing others to achieve success.

It would be great if you’ve worked in large, complex organisations or multi-client delivery environments, and are comfortable leading small cyber projects while supporting larger initiatives.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a competitive starting salary (negotiable depending on experience) and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

Please note: if you're selected for this role, you'll need to be able to obtain security vetting at SC level. If you already have your SC level vetting, please mention it in your application.

Closing date: 13th October 2024.

Join us and together we can help Britain achieve Net Zero.
