Cyber Security Apprenticeship Programme

At EDF UK success is personal. We don’t define it, you do. Join our Cyber Security Apprenticeship and you’ll achieve your career goals in the way you want to. All while contributing to our mission to help Britain achieve Net Zero.

“I am in my 3rd year of my apprenticeship, and it has taught me about the whole new world of cyber. Seeing concepts I learnt about in action, defending against threats such as phishing attacks and learning about how different organisations need to view cyber security has been an amazing opportunity, and makes me curious about the future of technology. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, and I am very involved within the teams that I have spent time in.” Daniel, current cyber apprentice

What does this Cyber Security Apprenticeship opportunity offer you?

Join our Cyber Security Apprenticeship and start your journey to becoming a professionally qualified Cyber Security analyst.

During our three and a half -year programme you’ll study for a Level 6 Cyber Security Technical Professional Apprenticeship with our training provider, Gloucester College.

You’ll spend time in different Cyber and Information Security teams within our business, across Nuclear Services. You will complete your studies through block release periods. While you will have the opportunity to travel to EDF sites and offices in the UK, you’ll be mainly based in the Southwest of England.

When you’re not studying, you’ll take on tasks including supporting Security Incident and Event Management activities, Security Risk assessments for IT and Industrial Control Systems (OT) and Architectural reviews of proposed changes to our IT environment, as well as a range of other tasks in our cyber security teams. All the while you will be maintaining and developing awareness of current information security technology and threats, to help protect our IT and OT systems. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you’ll gain knowledge and experience and take on more responsibility working alongside qualified members of the EDF cyber teams. As well as acting as a day-to-day advocate for cyber and information security, you will have the opportunity to represent EDF cyber security at internal and external forums and events, and be responsible for particular policies, standards and other documents that help keep us cyber safe.
