Client Project Planner

Client Project Planner

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity within Nuclear Decommissioning? Do you have project management experience with a desire to build further upon your skills? Are you a highly organised, exceptional communicator who builds strong working relationships? If so, this could be the role for you!

The Opportunity

The Client Project Planner will support planning activities across the Strategy, Planning and Performance team to ensure delivery of contractual submissions under the Nuclear Liabilities Funding Agreement (NLFA).

This role is in Nuclear Decommissioning’s “Client team”, which has responsibility for managing the work required under the NLFA and leading the relationship between ENGL and, principally, the Non-NDA Nuclear Liabilities Assurance team in NDA, who act as the Government’s agent.

The Client Team’s role is unique in ND and quite distinct from the technical colleagues it works alongside.  The team has extensive collaboration with internal technical teams, as well as regular external facing engagement with Government (DESNZ) and its representatives, where the strength and success of the external relationships have significant financial and reputational implications for the ENGL business.

Pay, benefits and culture

We can offer a competitive salary from £40,069 to £60,826 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.  We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility. We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support to the Client Project Manager and Strategy Plans Manager through project planning activities to ensure delivery of contractual submissions
  • Creating, maintaining and administering project plans, schedules and associated documentation including risk and opportunity registers, capturing lessons learned and monitoring implementation of improvements and actions to ensure increased efficiency for future deliverables
  • Running workshops and communicating with colleagues across the business to source and challenge their input information
  • Tracking responses to official recommendations and providing update reports for communication with external stakeholders
  • Producing project reports and briefing materials
  • Streamlining of documentation to aid production and business buy-in
  • Providing team support through administration of finance and procurement processes

Who you are

You will hold a HNC qualification as a minimum in a relevant subject. A degree in a related subject such as business, economics, management or an engineering discipline would be advantageous, as would a project management qualification.

You will have excellent project management and organisation skills, with considerable project management work experience.

Strong communication skills are essential, with proficiency in creation of explanatory graphics and presentation of information, data and forecasts. You will have experience of sharing this information and presenting and discussing results and analytics with regulators, external parties and stakeholders.

You will be an expert in the use of Microsoft office products and familiar with project management tools.

You will have excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently and to tight deadlines.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 30th April
