Business Continuity Support Officer

The Opportunity

 

We are looking for a Business Continuity Support Officer to join our nuclear energy business. You will join the Emergency Planning Group (EPG) in EDF Nuclear Generation Limited (NGL), which exists to develop and oversee the emergency arrangements for nuclear and conventional emergencies. The Emergency Planning Group supports EDF’s existing nuclear fleet operations, through to defueling.

 

Business Continuity is a fundamental activity for Nuclear Operations, as it supports the business to deliver its core objectives of safely generating electricity and conducting defueling operations.

 

This role is based out of our Gloucester Business Park office and will be working to a hybrid model.

What you’ll be doing

 

As a Business Continuity Support Officer, you will:

 

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of business continuity strategies and processes.
  • Support risk assessment activities.
  • Support teams to create and implement continuity plans for critical activities.
  • Support the development of appropriate training on business continuity arrangements.
  • Support the testing of business continuity arrangements.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of business continuity measures and assist in the development of reporting activities.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to business continuity.
  • Support incident response efforts during disruptions or disasters.

 

Who you are

 

As a minimum, you will have a HNC or equivalent in business continuity or a relevant subject.

 

You will have a sound appreciation of the components and challenges of an effective business continuity management programme and experience in supporting delivery of business continuity programmes in a complex industrial environment or similar.

 

You will have good problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail with accurate record keeping and / or awareness of governance frameworks. You will also be able to prioritise and deliver within timescales, adjusting for competing priorities where required. You will have experience of working in cross-functional teams and an ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
