The opportunity
We’re recruiting for Occupational Health Advisors to join our teams on a permanent basis located across all our sites. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll offer a focused driven mindset for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate.
Staff will range from new to legacy EDF employees also including line manager, and HR professionals, where you will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees.

We can offer a competitive salary starting from £40,000 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing
As our next Occupational Health Advisor, you will offer a focused driven mind-set for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate. You will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees.
Role and responsibilities also include:
- Managing a small OH team which may include, depending on location, OHA Nurse, OH Tech, OH Admin
- Assess through health screening and statutory health surveillance that employees are fit for work.
- Ensure local site Occupational Health Strategy supports the central Business Plan.
- Provide Occupational Health advice and guidance to Line Managers on sickness, absence, and rehabilitation issues. Work closely with HR and the line manager to ensure successful rehabilitation case management of individuals including restrictions of duties.
- Complete drug and alcohol tests for our employees
- Implement, maintain, and comply with OH clinical governance audit and processes including FOM Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) audits
- Undertake Local Audit of service and Treatments provided by EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
- Attend / Contribute to Local Health and Safety Meetings
- Support OH team by maintaining Policies / Documents in relation to specialist area of interest
- Depending on your location, you will work with the responsible person(s) to ensure Emery Medical Response training and standards are appropriate and adequate while also ensuring compliance within Radiation Regulations.

Who you are
To excel as an Occupational Health Advisor at EDF, we seek individuals who embody a strong foundation in healthcare. As a minimum requirement, you must hold a Registered Nurse qualification with a Post Grad Occupational Health qualification, demonstrating your commitment to continuous professional development. Your expertise in medical confidentiality, ethics, and accountability will be essential in providing comprehensive and responsible care to our EDF employees.
Your experience in audiometry, spirometry, ECG, vision screening, venepuncture, decontamination, HAVS assessment, immunisation, skin surveillance, and radiation and contamination knowledge will be highly valued. Furthermore, your proficiency in First Line management/Team Leader skills, Display Screen Equipment Assessment, Mental Health awareness, Drugs and Alcohol testing, NEBOSH certification or diploma in health and safety courses will greatly contribute to the well-being of employees and foster a safe work environment.
