The opportunity
We’re seeking a talented and adaptable Service and UX Design Specialist to join our Service Tribe within our Solutions & Automation team.
As a Design Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in translating user needs and business goals into exceptional design solutions that enhance the user experience and contribute to the successful delivery of value. Your ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional team members and integrate design processes into Agile workflows will be key to your success in this role.

What you’ll be doing
Key responsibilities include:
- User-Centred Design: Apply user-centred design principles to create intuitive end-to-end journeys and appealing designs that meet user needs and align with business objectives;
- User Focus: Identify and engage with users or stakeholders to collate user needs evidence. Understand and define research that fits user needs, using quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes;
- Design exploration: Work collaboratively with the scrum team members to generate design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups that communicate your ideas and contribute to informed design decisions;
- Iterative design: Embrace an iterative design process, gathering feedback and insights from team members, stakeholders, and users to continuously refine and improve designs;
- Design system adherence: Ensure alignment with established design systems and guidelines to maintain consistency and brand identity across all design deliverables;
- Agile delivery: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, advocating design considerations and contributing to the overall success of the team;
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, design tools, and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to enhance design practices within the Agile Scrum Team;
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with team members to ensure that developed solutions meet the specified quality standards. Participate in testing efforts and assist in resolving identified issues.
Who you are
- Design Expertise: Proven experience in user-centred design principles,service design, interaction design, and visual design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and problem-solving abilities;
- Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, and the ability to work within Agile frameworks, adapting design processes to align with Agile ceremonies;
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to creatively solve challenges to meet team objectives and put users first;
- Feedback integration: Ability to receive and incorporate feedback effectively, both from team members and users, to iteratively improve solutions;
- Empathy: Strong empathy for customers/users and an ability to advocate for their needs throughout the design process;
- Adaptability: Comfortable in dynamic environments with changing requirements, able to quickly adjust and contribute positively.
