The Opportunity
The Commercial and Performance team sit within the Zero Carbon Homes business area, with a principal responsibility to ensure EDF moves forward at pace as a leading company in Net Zero, coordinating commercial and non-commercial activities across different parts of the overall business.
We’re looking for a talented commercial manager to provide commercial and strategic planning oversight and expertise to the ECO and Strategic Partnership teams, helping us deliver our energy efficiency obligation compliantly and at the cost recoverable via the Energy Price Cap.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead from a commercial perspective on delivering our ambition to bring more of the ECO value chain in-house, working with the ECO team and net zero subsidiaries to deliver this.
As the Commercial Manager, you will be a subject matter expert, responsible for assessing and advising on commercial activity related to ECO and Strategic Partnerships related activities. Key activities would include ownership of the MTP and financial forecast, highlighting opportunities and risks.
You will lead the pricing of bids submitted to local authorities and social housing providers for energy efficiency and renewable heating tenders, enabling us to develop partnerships with these organisations who have access to central government funding.
You’ll be the primary contact point for commercial and strategic activities, and you’ll work with the respective leadership teams to ensure key decisions are commercially sound, rational and align with our overarching strategic objectives and targets.
Whilst the scope and responsibility of the role is primarily directed towards the ECO and Strategic Partnership team, the role will also require knowledge and capability supporting our subsidiaries, CB Heating (now EDF Heat Pumps) and Contact Solar, plus any future business units that fall under the scope of the Net Zero area.

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, even when priorities and objectives may differ.
As the Commercial Manager, you’ll bring experience in presenting plans, analysis, and recommendations to senior leaders, coupled with the ability to influence decisions and ensure commercial and regulatory considerations remain central to key business choices.
Your strong planning and organisational abilities will enable you to translate business strategies intro clear objectives, actionable plans and priorities.
