Senior Analyst

The Person

• The Senior Analyst will take responsibility for the development, quality and delivery of the overall objectives, projects, business improvement & change initiatives agreed by their manager.
• You will validate and oversee the delivery of operational and/or financial analytical activities.
• You will work collaboratively with a wide range of business stakeholders inside & outside EDF Energy.
• You will make recommendations provided by this role will contribute towards supporting business & financial decisions.
• You will support and mentor Analysts within the team ensuring their work is delivered to agreed timescales, quality & required standards.
• Plan, promote & ensure full compliance with all health, safety & sustainability processes & policies.
• Validate and oversee the analyses and evaluation of operational and industry information using business & financial software packages and statistical software tools.
• Lead the development, review & testing of analyses and models to quantify audit requirements, business performance, forecast future outcomes and recommend improvements.
• Identify strategic areas for improvement to business, accounting and financial policies, processes & controls and contribute to the development of solutions.
• Produce, present and communicate (for internal &/or external audiences) a variety of general and complex statistical information (written and/or verbal),

The Skills

• Has an up to date knowledge of the energy industry / markets, systems, processes & policies, legislation, regulation, standards and trends.
• Has experience of participating in:
  • Small to medium sized projects, business improvement &/or change initiatives,
  • The development of business strategy.
• Has internal and external stakeholder management experience.

Has had exposure to mentoring &/or coaching people.

• Has strong commercial aware and customer focus, and can understand the changing business & financial environment.

• Able to use a comprehensive range of numerical, modelling and analytical techniques, IT software (MS suite, database tools), VBA and other modelling & financial packages.
