The Opportunity…
 

As a process expert in the Settlements team, you will work to increase the overall volume of energy settling on an Annualised Advance. This will include working across workstreams including settlement audited dataflows, read validation, and read strategy.

What you’ll be doing

•    Be a subject matter expert & ensure the retention of industry process knowledge within the team.
•    Execute complex work for various data exceptions, drawing on deep understanding of Customer, industry, and business requirements.
•    Work collaboratively with peers within outsource & the wider EBS teams to deliver continuous improvement & efficiency savings.
•    Create, maintain & enhance work instructions to support controlled & efficient execution of back-office exceptions by internal & external resources to ensure compliance as defined by the Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC).
•    Liaise with internal and external third parties to ensure successful completion of various data exception processes. 
•    Communicate & coach team members to ensure changes to processes & work instructions are fully understood & embedded effectively into BAU.
•    Transition new activities for completion by TCS (Offshore), to ensure requirements are fully understood & success criteria is achieved within required timeframe.
•    Carry out root cause analysis activities to identify opportunities to deliver a better customer experience whilst balancing commercial costs and regulation.
•    Participate in compliance assurance activities such as activity assurance reviews & process mapping to ensure compliance to industry standards & regulation.
•    Undertake analysis & validation of reporting to ensure accuracy of submissions to internal & external stakeholders, providing insight/supporting information as appropriate to the management team.
•    Organise & prioritise own workload in line with team priorities; ensure effective time management & use of action planning to deliver requirements on schedule.
•    Take part in annual audits with internal and external parties.

The role requires analytical skills to interpret data, identify opportunities to simplify processes, control costs, and create measurable value. You must communicate complex issues clearly, plan and organise effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.
 

Exceptional customer service skills and a solid understanding of the energy and retail industries are essential for success in this role.
