Analyst

The Person

  • Accountable for building and retaining a detailed level of knowledge and expertise in core business and industry processes relevant to the Back Office functions;
  • Interface with other functions and business areas to define and assure how core processes are deployed across our customer service channels and sourcing mix;
  • Undertake analysis and provide recommendations to continuously improve core business processes, delivering an enhanced customer experience and increased operational performance;
  • Increase efficiency through the identification and removal of waste from processes, engaging cross functionally and externally to overcome business and industry constraints;
  • Present and articulate complex information in a structured and understandable way to senior stakeholders and colleagues;
  • Develop a detailed understanding of management information and reporting relevant to function, carry out validation of external reporting and use data to identify areas of focus / opportunity;
  • Work collaboratively with peer group to develop cross functional expertise and create flexibility with the BODR Analyst population
  • Represent the business at external meetings and working groups, bridging the gap between industry changes and the interests of impacted business functions.

  • Evidence of building a strong understanding of business processes and activities in previous role;
  • Displays a challenging and value-focused mentality; is able to challenge the status quo and have difficult conversations to support increased value / efficiency;
  • Experience in providing recommendations for strategic or high value business decisions;
  • Has good knowledge of the energy industry / markets;
  • Has good commercial awareness & customer focus;
  • Able to tailor their communication style and/or approach (written & verbal), presenting & explaining complex ideas, displaying sound judgement and objectivity;
  • Uses a range of techniques to influence and challenge business decisions;
  • Able to maintain effective business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Able to act with complete integrity and confidentiality;
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Able to prioritise conflicting activities and work under pressure.

Qualifications & Experience


ESSENTIAL

 

  • Has experience of undertaking analytical work, using good statistical & modelling technique;
  • Numerate, analytical with commercial acumen;
  • Experience of working simultaneously across multiple work streams and projects, with ability to plan and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines;
  • Experience of communicating with a range of stakeholders and able to create a positive impression 
  • Proven relationship building skills and networking across the wider business;
  • Demonstrates clear adherence to Zero Harm standards & undertakes safety audits within area.
