An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Wind Turbine Technician to join our Fallago Rig team and we would welcome applications from experienced Technicians, or individuals with transferrable skills, to join us during a period of growth.

We are EDF EN Services UK (“EENS UK”) is a 50/50 JV between EDF Energy (“EDF E”) and EDF EN Services (“EENS”) (together the “ Shareholders”). We have the task of delivering safe renewable operations and maintenance (O &M) services in the UK. That includes the operation and maintenance of circa 450MW in 26 wind farms

Reporting to your regional O&M Area Manager, you will be expected to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to Vestas wind turbine projects in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
Knowledge of other wind technologies would be an advantage but is not a necessity.

Day-today you will be:

•    Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
•    Scheduled service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
•    Reporting and planning daily maintenance activity.
•    Coordinating local spare part and consumable stock.
•    Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components.
•    Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime.
•    Supervising specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange.
•    Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
•    Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors.
•    Providing out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown with reasonable notice
•    Ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.
•    Form part of an on-call team, including weekend cover.

The Person


We are looking for a strong safety-minded person with excellent analytical thinking. This role requires a strong sense of planning and organisation and an ability to communicate and pass on technical knowledge.
Equally important is a genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm for working in the field.

The Skills


•    Desirable experience on wind turbines in a technician capacity. Knowledge of Vestas wind turbine projects, in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines. OR equivalent relevant engineering experience whereby the skills are transferrable.
•    Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to ONC / NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience)
•    High level of physical fitness and good health
•    Previous accreditation as AT/AE under WTSR is desirable but not essential
•    High level of computer literacy
•    Full UK driving licence
