The Opportunity


We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a passion for renewable energy, who can demonstrate initiative, excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills, to join our team as a markets and investment analyst.


The role as an Analyst will help to inform EDF Renewables’ investment strategy through analysis of market fundamentals, financial valuation and simulation of storage (+ co-location) operation and revenue generation.

 

This role will specifically work with Battery Energy Storage System. Experience in Battery Storage is highly beneficial.

What you’ll be doing


You’ll contribute analysis and insight into M&A, partnerships, auction processes and Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) to support the ambitious growth of EDF Renewables UK & Ireland, covering offshore wind, onshore wind, solar, battery storage and hydrogen investments.


The role will provide the opportunity to become an expert in a rapidly growing field, and the mixture of analysis and communication will allow the successful candidate to build a well-rounded set of skills that will enable exciting career development opportunities.

 

What do you need to be great at this role?


Knowledge and experience in the energy sector is preferred, with a particular focus on the fundamental drivers of power markets and the role of storage within them. The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the increasing automation and sophistication of our models, whilst communication of results will also be key, so we will look for excellent presentation skills and demonstrated stakeholder management experience.


You’ll have experience in coding (this will be applied to automation, modelling and data processing in Python) in addition to;

  • Understanding and ideally experience of financial modelling (discounted cashflow analysis)
  • Knowledge of energy markets.
  • Experience in structuring and manipulating data.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
  • Advanced Excel use.
