The Opportunity

We have recently announced the acquisition of SAS Energy, specialists in providing solar technology for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors.  SAS Energy is now a fully owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables UK, bringing along a team of 30 solar experts and a portfolio of over 45 projects in development and construction. 

We have a new opportunity for you to become our Health & Safety Manager where your role will be to carry out site visits and audits on live construction projects to include incident, accident investigations, report writing and follow up.

Location:  Hybrid working with site visits and time spent at Head Office in Edenbridge, Kent

What you’ll be doing
 

Providing Health & Safety advice to all departments within the business and attending site and client meetings, as required to promote the safe working culture & zero harm objectives of the business.

You’ll develop and manage the EDF/SAS Health and Safety management system and assist with main office Health & Safety compliance, for fire, emergency and safety planning.  You’ll also assist within the Environmental team, in site and business operations in addition to:

  • CDM site documentation review. (CPP, RAMS, including subcontractors)
  • Process and procedure documentation writing and reviewing Internal.
  • Process and procedure documentation reviewing 3rd party external.
  • Leadership of the company zero harm requirement.
  • Site workshop on Health & Safety culture & best working practises.
  • Management of health & safety stats
  • Liaise with EDF, Health and Safety corporate team on company statistics and performance.
  • Liaise with HSE, HSE executive for any reportable notifications (F10, RIDDOR)
  • Any other duties that are required to assist the wider business with Health and Safety aspects.

 

What do you need to be great at this role?
 

You’ll be well educated with a NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement), diploma preferred with Construction industry experience (Chemical, Oil also suitable) and CDM experience.  You’ll have pragmatic and practical implementation with great interpersonal skills and articulate and proficient writing skills.
