Engineer - Nuclear Safety / Safety Case Engineer

Nature and Scope

EDF Energy’s Generation business operates eight nuclear power stations in the UK with a combined capacity of almost 9,000 megawatts providing around a sixth of the UK’s electricity needs – electricity that is vital to the UK economy. Safety is our number one priority, and we pride ourselves in operating our fleet safely and reliably. In a typical year, our power stations avoid the emission of over 30 million tonnes of CO2. That’s equivalent of removing over half of the passenger cars from the UK’s roads. The Upstream division of Generation includes the operation of Cottam and West Burton coal power stations, the supply chain for coal and biomass, renewables assets, generation forecasting and hedging.

Dungeness B is an advanced gas-cooled reactor (AGR) power station with a generating capacity of 1110MW of electricity – the equivalent of supplying over 1.5 million homes.
