Work Week Manager

The Opportunity

 

An opportunity exists for the role of Work Week Manager at Torness Power Station.  This role provides a focal point to the station for the planning and subsequent successful delivery of work packages with minimum risk to nuclear or personnel safety.

 

You will be part of a team within the Work Management Group who are responsible for individual weeks which will be at various stages of development within the Management of Work planning process used by EDF Energy.

 

Pay, benefits and culture

 

The expected starting salary for this appointment will be within the range of £59,662 and £78,541 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications. You will receive 28 days annual holiday plus bank holidays, incremental and competency-based progression, and a defined contributions pensions scheme.

What you’ll be doing

 

Working in the Work Management Team, part of the Maintenance Department the Work Week Manager works with the rest of the team comprising Cycle Coordinators, Cycle Planners and Compliance to ensure effective delivery of planned routine and non-routine work to maintain Compliance and support Safe, Reliable operation of our Power Station. Duties will include:

 

  • Delivering the prioritised tasks for the period and ensuring Nuclear Safety is managed by liaising with Operations and Nuclear Safety
  • Ensuring key tasks are subject to quality checking and oversight ensuring successful delivery
  • Building an effective network of relationships and encourage all station departments and stakeholders to support the delivery of planned work
  • Liaising with the Operations Department to ensure all Safety Documents has been requested and agreed
  • Ensuring all work packs have been reviewed and agreed with the execution teams, ensuring the correct spares identified are available
  • Supporting services have been identified and prioritised to deliver the work
  • Monitoring the achievement rate for the current week and providing feedback to the organisation through the post-week review meetings.
  • Chairing the Work Planning and Readiness Meetings during the Work Week preparation phases
  • Attend the Operational Focus Meeting to:
    • Identify to the meeting any Compliance threats
    • Feedback daily progress to the station plan
    • Notify the station of the planned focus for the next 24 hours
    • Highlighting any critical tasks or key tasks, any changes to the plan

We are looking for someone with the drive to gain the skills needed for successful in project management. This is a great development opportunity to broaden your skills and experience, focusing on stakeholder management, leadership and relationship building across the station.

 

The Work Week Manager fulfils a significant role on the Station and is expected to work some additional hours to support the successful delivery of their work week.

 

Candidates will require an Engineering or Scientific HNC (or equivalent) as a minimum. Those with a relevant degree may have an advantage.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
