Work Cycle Planner


We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team in Torness as our next Work Cycle Planner. As a Cycle Planner you will join the highly experienced and multi-skilled team in the Work Management Department at Torness. The Work Management Group is responsible for maintaining Compliance with the Site Licence and Statutory Regulations and the planning and delivery of the Station’s Maintenance Policies. 


In this role, you will be required to work with a number of departments to best co-ordinate and schedule Station maintenance activities that ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of the plant whilst maintaining full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations.

Pay, Benefits and Culture


We’re offering a salary of £31,149 - £55,394 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification. You’ll also be entitled to a shift allowance on top of your base salary for this role.

What You'll Be Doing


Working in this role, you will report to the Work Management Group Head and you will be accountable for the provision of effective and efficient planning in order to achieve best possible performance of the Management of Work processes including:


  • Performing effective work planning and scheduling to facilitate the efficient maintenance and repair of plant and equipment
  • Produce Work Week plans that ensure Site Licence Conditions, Statutory Regulatory and Compliance requirements are fulfilled
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with relevant stakeholders to promote engagement with the EDF Work Management process
  • Plan activities to support the focus areas of Equipment Reliability, Operational Focus and Fire Safety and ensure that significant or critical work included in plans is identified to stake holders
  • Provide appropriate support to ensure delivery of WM Department and Station Business Plan objectives
  • Perform post work week execution reviews to capture learning, identify and drive areas for improvement

Who You Are


As a planner you will be self-motivated, resilient and have a positive attitude towards your work. The role requires you to be able to work well as part of a team and have the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate across many working groups.


We are looking for you to have had previous experience of Nuclear, or within a maintenance environment, as well as experience in planning principles. However, don’t let this stop you applying as we will offer full training and development in this sector.
