Are you looking for a role where you can contribute within a Corporate Occupational Health service and support our employees with their needs? If so, we currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Full Time, Permanent, Occupational Health Advisor at our Torness Nuclear Power Station.

 

Working as our next Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide a comprehensive Occupational Health service that is appropriate and accessible to all members of staff in compliance with statutory obligations and ethical standards and company standards and practice.

 

You’ll be providing advice and guidance to line managers on all aspects of Occupational Health to assist leaders to manage their staff in the most effective manner. All while working within the required timeframes of your delivery strategies and future business requirements. You will also be responsible for managing team of OH professionals and support the team in continued professional and personal development to ensure EDF OH continue to deliver the highest quality patient care, whilst delivering the central business plan objectives.

We’re offering a salary of £36,175 - £65,536 that apply with our terms and conditions covered by the EDF Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experiences and qualification.

What you'll be doing

 

Working as our next Occupational Health Advisor, your roles and responsibilities will include:

 

  • Providing guidance, support and advice on effective implementation of the OH strategies, policies and procedures in line with company/statutory policies/legislation and business objectives.
  • Share comprehensive advice and guidance to line managers on statutory legislation affecting OH.
  • Demonstrate a focus at the location for all Occupational Health matters liaising with all staff as appropriate.
  • Working with First Aid Class secretary to ensure First Aid training and standards are appropriate and adequate.
  • Assessing through health screening and statutory health surveillance that employees are fit for work.
  • Establishing close working relationships with GP’s, Hospitals, Industrial Safety, HR, emergency teams and management teams.
  • Supporting and promote mental wellbeing.
  • Implementing, maintaining and complying with service quality systems, procedures and standards through corporate and clinical governance

Who you are

 

As a minimum, be a qualified Registered Nurse - Adult (RN), preferably with a post graduate qualification in occupational health or prepared to undertake OH training within 2 years of commencement of post. You’ll also need to hold working knowledge of Occupational Health, preferably in an industrial environment. Other requirements for this role also include:

 

  • Comprehensive understanding and application of medical confidentiality, ethics and accountability,
  • Clinical skills including: audiometry, spirometry, ECG, vision screening, venepuncture, decontamination, HAVS assessment, immunisation
  • First Line management / Team Leader skills
  • First Aid at Work certificate
  • Drugs and Alcohol testing competency
  • Be flexible where possible to meet the business need
