We can offer a competitive salary from £54,391 with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

You’ll be working with stakeholders across the station as well as central support functions such as employee services, employee relations, learning and development and recruitment to provide support and guidance alongside ensuring team performance is effectively managed.

 

Workforce planning to future proof and minimise resource risk to operation, you’ll be developing the requirements that Torness Power Station will need and working with our recruitment team to attract and source talent as we look forward into our lifetime operations plans, identifying and delivering the resourcing process as required, alongside talent and succession mapping.  

 

Executing reward, development and organisational design plans with your teams, to ensure that we retain talent and ensure succession throughout the business.  Helping to maintain our people plan, ensuring this is relevant with the business priorities and this is communicated to key stakeholders to foster engagement and collaborative working across departments. All of these will impact our diversity and inclusion plans which you’ll need to consider through everyday guidance as well as future planning.

 

Working within a diverse and interesting environment, employee relations is as the forefront, you will communicate effectively with our stakeholders including welfare, safety and trade union representatives. You will provide line managers with the support and guidance needed to ensure that individual and team performance is effectively managed across your business area, in alignment with the company performance management framework and process

 

You will liaise with our performance improvement department regularly to review and ensure development training and associated initiatives are being implemented effectively.

 

 

Who You Are

 

You should be a member of CIPD with HNC as a minimum qualification or CIPD equivalent. We’d want proven experience of working in a progressive HR, people management and unionised environment. You should be commercially minded and pragmatic in your application of HR best practice and able to deliver high quality HR generalist support, including extensive knowledge of appropriate employment law and HR best practices and their pragmatic application.

 

You’ll need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the areas of change and strategic consulting, performance management, reward management, people development, talent management resourcing and ER/engagement. The ability to coach line managers and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes is important, as is analysing and presenting data in a creative way. You should have the credibility to influence and successfully challenge line managers.

 

As part of the HR team at Torness, the HR Business Partner will work in partnership with line managers and key stakeholders liaising with the Corporate Functions, Training & Development, as well as the Resourcing Centres of Excellence, Employee Services and HR Specialists.  This will enable the successful candidate to provide all stakeholders with the full range of HR support and services as required. Provide line managers with the support and guidance needed to ensure that individual and team performance is effectively managed.
