The Opportunity


We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Coordination Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the coordination of all technical activities within one of the HPC building engineering teams. If you are successful, your main responsibility will be to support the team in achieving the design maturity of the multidisciplinary aspects of the building: civil works, layout, electrical, HVAC, piping, systems, safety, hazards, etc..

 

This role sits within Edvance UK, which is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C (SZC) Project
 

The Role

 

As a Technical Coordination Engineer you will be responsible for assisting with several of the below listed activities depending on the job/project requirements and the competences and experience:

 

•    Configuration management (Design changes, open-points, interfaces)

 

o    In charge of the Configuration Management for a specific building by piloting and coordinating the technical aspects of the Configuration (Design changes/Open points/Input data definition) between the different internal and external stakeholders, thus ensuring a consistent and compliant building design.

 

•    Coordination of cross-functional technical issues:


o    Ensures the resolution of various cross-functional technical issues by coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders, and driving the issue to a timely resolution.
o    Participates where necessary in coordination meetings organised by the various parties involved in the project (modification committees, project decision meeting, etc.)
o    Presents and shares building engineering progress, including KPI production, and data analysis to support management decision making
o    Prepares and presents to design change committees by ensuring all impacts of changes are well assessed and described.

 

•    Other activities:


o    Carries out internal quality control: checks the consistency of the engineering deliverables
o    Takes part in the management of experience feedback from previous projects 

 

The Skills

 

Essential: 

 

•    Engineer with experience in one or several engineering disciplines which can include nuclear safety, electrical, mechanical, systems, civil, layout. 
•    An interest in various engineering disciplines and great ability to learn is required
•    Previous experience on the HPC project, including the use for the configuration management processes and tools
•    Skills and experience in problem solving, stakeholder management, communication and influence, ability to make decisions taking into consideration wider project implications  

 

Desirable: 

 

•    Experience on EPR or other nuclear new build projects
