The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
The Technical Coordination Engineer ensures the optimisation of the technical activities by providing support to all engineering teams based EDF EPR Engineering UK for the UK HPC EPR project. Ensuring a strong link between the configuration management activities performed at the project level and the building or discipline that they are working for.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage configuration management, overseeing design changes, open points, and interfaces to ensure consistency and optimisation across the project. Your role will involve coordinating the technical aspects of design change management, piloting and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders to achieve a cohesive and efficient design.
You’ll also be responsible for coordinating cross-functional technical issues, ensuring their resolution by bringing together multidisciplinary stakeholders. Additionally, you’ll mentor and support colleagues throughout the business, contributing to both team and individual success.
Who you are
Being a Technical Authority Lead at Hinkley Point C means bringing several years of experience in one or more engineering disciplines, such as nuclear safety, electrical, mechanical, systems, civil, or layout. If you don’t have a broad engineering background, a strong ability to learn quickly is essential. Experience with configuration management processes and tools is also highly valued.
You’ll need excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a proactive approach, and strong influencing abilities. The role requires someone who can work effectively both as part of a team and independently, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, think logically, and remain focused on results. Meeting commitments and deadlines is crucial.
