Technical Coordination Engineer

The Opportunity...

 

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.

 

For the SZC Project, work on the replication strategy and some early design studies are already underway and being delivered and managed from both France and UK.

 

As a Technical Coordination Engineer, you will ensure the optimisation of technical activities by providing support to all engineering teams. You will be establishing a strong link between configuration management activities at the project level and the specific building or discipline you are working on.

 

In this role you will be coordinating technical aspects of design changes, open-points, and interfaces to ensure consistency across stakeholders and participating in various project committees to facilitate communication and decision-making. Additionally, you’ll be managing experience feedback from previous projects and reporting progress to the team manager.

What you’ll be doing…

 

  • Coordinating configuration management activities including design changes, open-points, and interfaces.
  • Piloting and coordinating technical aspects of design change management ensuring consistency and optimisation across stakeholders.
  • Coordinating cross-functional technical issues resolution by engaging multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Participating in various project committees such as Change Management Boards, Nuclear Island Architecture Meetings.
  • Managing experience feedback from previous projects.
  • Reporting progress to the team manager, including KPI production and data analysis for decision-making.

Who you are…

 

Your background may include some of the following:

  • Degree in engineering with several years of experience in one or several engineering disciplines (nuclear safety, electrical, mechanical, systems, civil, layout) or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new engineering concepts.
  • Previous experience working on the HPC project, including familiarity with configuration management processes and tools.
  • Proficiency in software and tools such as Microsoft Word/Excel, 3D viewer, and change/open-point databases.
  • Experience with nuclear new build projects and EPR technology would be desirable.
  • French language skills would be advantageous.
