The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As a Senior IMS Support, you’ll act as a technical expert within the CAD and Engineering Tools ecosystem, addressing complex challenges and providing guidance to ensure seamless operations. Reporting to the IMS Team Lead, you’ll focus on optimising the company’s engineering tools infrastructure, driving performance improvements, and leading infrastructure projects that enhance reliability and efficiency. Through proactive problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration, you’ll play a key role in ensuring long-term success and supporting key business functions.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll act as the technical authority in resolving high-level issues within the CAD and engineering tools ecosystem, ensuring timely resolution of complex challenges. Supporting the IMS Team Lead, you’ll provide mentorship to junior IMS staff while overseeing the maintenance, upgrades, and support of key engineering tools to maintain optimal system performance and availability.
You’ll collaborate with internal departments to gather technical requirements and deliver solutions that align with organisational objectives. In addition, you’ll manage and execute IMS-related projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and tool development initiatives. You’ll represent EPR-E in technical forums, including DISC and EDVANCE, and ensure the development and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and processes to promote knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Who you are
You’ll hold a degree in Engineering or a related technical field and bring proven expertise in supporting IMS operations and CAD/engineering tools. You’ll have hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues within engineering environments, with deep knowledge of AVEVA Administration Tools and similar platforms. A strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage solutions, is essential to ensure system performance and availability.
We’re looking for someone with solid experience in database management systems and IMS project delivery, who can effectively collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams. Strong communication skills, coupled with advanced problem-solving abilities, will be crucial in driving solutions and ensuring the successful execution of technical initiatives within the organisation.
