Opportunity…

We are recruiting for a Portfolio Accountant, who will be responsible for supporting the Senior Portfolio Accountant in the execution and management of the EPR Programme Digital & IT Portfolio financial strategy. 
 

You will be commercially minded and proactively interact with Digital & IT stakeholders to support with the provision of financial insight and analysis, that will support the digital portfolio delivery decision-making process. As the Portfolio Accountant, you will own a range of activities contributing to the management of the EPR Programme Digital & IT Portfolio budget.

What you’ll be doing…

•    Support the Budgeting and Forecasting processes for the EPR Programme Digital & IT Portfolio.

     This includes LE1, LE2 and LE3 submissions annually, flexing to the ongoing changes within the

     directorate.
•    Drive budget planning activities, lifetime costs and ongoing cost tracking analysis within EPR

     Programme Digital & IT, providing support to the CIO and their direct reports.
•    Gather information and compile slide decks to help decision-making processes including influencing

     short-, medium and long-term strategies and investment prioritisation.
•    Support the preparation of monthly accounting updates meetings, analysing highlighting, and

     explaining monthly variances.
•    Support Project Managers with ongoing forecasting, cost tracking and reporting.
•    Work directly with the IT Service Managers across all areas to track and improve efficiency in IT

     Operations costs management and reduction.
•    Contribute to accurate, consistent, and timely reporting is provided to the Portfolio Control Group, PRG

     and IT/IM Exec.
•    Execution of accruals and recharge processes.
•    Review and support in the development of investment cases for delivery and ongoing IT

     maintenance run costs.
•    Carry out ad hoc analysis and project deep dives.



Who you are…
 

•    Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
•    Advanced Excel skills.
•    Experience in SAP and Anaplan.
•    Strong Communication, and stakeholder management skills for engagement at all levels.
•    Business partnering experience of engaging non-financial stakeholders.
•    Ability to organise work and deliver to tight deadlines.
•    High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
•    Full lifecycle experience.


Your background may include some of the following:
 

•    Prior experience working in client role.
•    Prior experience working in Nuclear, asset intensive and/or Safety Critical industries.
