PDMS Engineer

The Opportunity

 

We are currently dedicated to the design of BNI for Hinkley Point C (and preparations for Sizewell C).

 

We are based in a newly refurbished, modern office on Aztec West in Bristol. There are over 300 of us here and we’re proud that it can feel like a big multi-cultural family - we have 40 different nationalities.

 

The PDMS engineer will lead the activities within the 3D model in interaction with the PDMS drafter, the layout engineer and the civil engineer.
 

The CAD activities include layout of buildings in the field of civils, electrical and mechanical.
 

The Person

 

Civil activities:
• Creation and update of the 3D layout model under the PDMS software for civil structures and all associated elements (such as plates, rails, sleeves, topographic devices…) with respect to the project’s schedule,
• If necessary, production of general drawings (location of rooms, fire plans…),
• Review of civil models or drawings produced by other parties in conjunction with the layout model and update of PDMS.
 

Electrical activities:
• Creation and update of the 3D layout model under the PDMS software of the volumes associated to electrical equipment including the Edf Coding System (ECS): tables, cupboards, cabinets…
• Creation and update of the cable trays by taking into account the Company’s layout guidances such as bending radius of cables, tablets continuity…
• Creation and update of supports with the MDS tool in compliance with the rules defined by the Company,
• Creation and update of earthing drawings
 

Mechanical activities:
• Creation and update of the 3D layout model under the PDMS software of the HVAC equipment and the associated supports by using the MDS tool,
• Creation and update of the 3D layout model under the PDMS software of the various pipes and associated supports,
• Creation and update of the 3D layout model under the PDMS software of the various mechanical equipment such as pumps.
• Review of mechanical models or drawings produced by other parties in conjunction with the layout model and update of PDMS.
 

Transverse activities:
• Modelling in the 3D layout model of erection zones, fire zones, and various other information,
• Extraction of data from the 3D layout model in order to produce Bills of Quantity,
• Check and review of the 3D layout model in terms of clashes and data consistency at periodic time,
• Creation and update of drawings related to fire strategy and interfaces, including with roads and networks,
• Implementation of the attributes in the 3D layout model in conjunction with the Company’s layout guidance.

• Validation of the 3D model updated by the drafter

The Skills

 

•    Education: University Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering
•    Working Experience: High level of experience in the field of civil design of complex (such as Oil & Gas), or nuclear structures
•    Language(s): English, French will be appreciate
•    General abilities: Communication, analytical mindset, team spirit,  
•    Nuclear plant
•    Good knowledge of PDMS and Autocad tools
•    Working knowledge of common Office software packages (e.g; Word, Excel, Power point)
