Quality Management Lead

The Opportunity

Company Overview
EDF Energy is a core part of the EDF Group, one of the largest energy companies in Europe. We are the UK's leading generator and supplier of low carbon energy, producing around one-fifth of the nation's electricity and employing more than 15,000 people. We operate nuclear, coal and gas power stations, wind farms, and combined heat & power plants. We have a focus on safe, dependable energy generation and an ethos of service excellence. We intend to play a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK and secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees.

Vacancy Overview
The scope of the HPC Project is divided across six delivery programmes, to which the Quality Department provides quality related services. Within each programme, the primary role of the Quality Management Lead (QML) is to, for their assigned work portfolio, ensure supply chain adherence to the contracted quality assurance and quality control requirements across the full project life-cycle.

You will act as the Intelligent Customer in the capacity of ensuring that all quality related arrangements are in place and effectively implemented by the supply chain. This includes development and implementation of Project Quality Control Plans through to ensuring that manufactured equipment conform to the contract design and technical specifications, for onward delivery to site for installation, testing and commissioning.
For your assignments, you will be the single point of contact for all quality related elements associated with the supply chain. This is a challenging but rewarding role where you will work in close collaboration with all other project functions and the supply chain to ensure that project quality is delivered consistently (safety, efficiently and right first time), and compliant with the quality arrangements.

Nature and Scope
The QML will work in the HPC Quality Management Team with administrative reporting to the Quality Management Manager who shall ensure QMLs perform and apply the appropriate processes to deliver to programme quality requirements.

In turn, QMLs when assigned to the Programmes, will work to the quality requirements set out by the respective Quality Delivery Manager from each Programme. The QML is tasked to deliver and meet these requirements within their work portfolio, supporting the QDM and their respective Multi-Discipline Team (MDT) by the provision of quality management expertise and to ensure products and/or services are provided Right First Time (RFT) in line with the HPC Project Goals. In support of this, QMLs are to ensure effective resolution of issues and implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
