A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve net zero.

The Opportunity

As an Internal Governance & Assurance Manager, you will be accountable for the day-to-day activities associated with managing the Governance of the Supply Chain Directorate on the HPC Project, and assuring that this Governance is fit for purpose, effective, and complied with by the Directorate.

The Supply Chain Directorate is the team responsible for all non-IT related procurement, contract management, contract closure, and supply chain relationship management on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) Project.

If this role sounds suitable for you why not consider working as a part of one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK. At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

The Role

As an Internal Governance & Assurance Manager on the HPC project, your responsibilities will include but won’t be limited to the below;

•    Owning key Governance documents  on behalf of the Supply Chain Director – ensuring these documents remain up to date and are effectively implemented.
•    Running the annual Supply Chain Directorate assurance plan; working with teams across the Supply Chain Directorate to ensure that their responsibilities are accurately reflected in the above key documents, and that they are managing and assuring the delivery of these services in line with key requirements.
•    Ownership of the Supply Chain Directorate Risk Log and associated management process – including leading periodic reviews and chasing action owners for updates.
•    Day to day oversight of individuals responsible for the effective implementation and management of the Contract Baseline Library.
•    Ownership of the Supply Chain Directorate Requirements Register and associated management process – including leading periodic reviews and monitoring delivery of action plans to implement requirements into Governance.

The Skills

•    A track record of managing Governance (writing documentation, reviewing documentation, ensuring alignment of documentation).
•    A track record of action tracking and monitoring – particularly where action owners are those in senior roles.
•    Familiar with management systems and Governance Frameworks.
•    Track record of a structured and diligent approach to reviewing work and identifying issues.
•    Familiar with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy.
•    Good understanding of the UK regulatory framework.
•    Basic understanding of NEC & FIDIC forms of contract is desirable.
•    Basic understanding of corporate legal requirements is desirable.
•    Ability to work with subject matter experts to take complex information and effectively distil this into key requirements for implementation.
•    Ability to engage with individuals at all levels – including holding senior members of staff to account for actions.
•    Excellent communication skills.
•    Problem solver who can understand wider strategic context and is prepared to take ownership and work autonomously to deliver requirements which meet these aims.

Competitive Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn a bonus.

Please let us know if you require flexible working arrangements by highlighting this on your application.  We’re happy to talk flexibly in line with the requirements of this opportunity.
