The Opportunity

 

Join EDF as a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst and you’ll join a dynamic team on one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK. 


The role sits within the Nuclear New Build (NNB) Digital & IT department and you will be responsible for supporting the Digital & IT Delivery Assurance and Governance Lead in delivering and improving ongoing Assurance and Governance processes. 

 

As a Digital & IT Governance Analyst, your main responsibility will be to ensure the active review and submission of weekly status portfolio reporting and risks and issues log, work closely with Programme Delivery and Project Managers to address assurance and governance queries, participate in assurance review meetings and ensure architecture design decisions comply with recognised governance standards.


You will act as the main Governance point of contact for Project Managers, will attend Project Boards and will ensure governance processes are understood and correctly applied.

If successful you will be responsible for maintaining Portfolio Control Group processes and minutes, supporting the Architecture Review Board (ARB), and overall the digital & IT Portfolio governance and compliance.

 

The Role

 

As a Delivery Assurance & Governance Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:


•    Maintain the Portfolio Governance framework and schedule and ensure Digital & IT Projects and Programmes adhere to the structure.
•    Own and maintain governance templates and logs (Weekly Status, Portfolio Control Group (PCG), Risks & Issues, Dependencies, RESA, Mandate, Investment Case, Change Request, Actions and Decisions).
•    Ensure strict adherence to Change Control processes whenever a deviation is required from a baselined deliverable, including scope, requirements, costs and timescales.
•    Ensure strict adherence to the Governance calendar and deadlines across the Portfolio.
•    Schedule Governance meetings and collate and provide supporting Governance material.
•    Engage with new joiners (particularly Project Managers) to ensure Governance processes and timelines are understood.
•    Regularly liaise with project-level Project Managers to support the successful Governance according to agreed standards and processes, ensuring integrity of baseline information for projects and programmes; such as budgets, milestone dates, investment approval phases.
•    Oversee the administration of Projects’ Investment and Change Control Processes, to provide assurance that all the projects in the portfolio are appropriately governed and changes to baselined deliverables across the portfolio are managed appropriately.
•    Support the continuous improvement of portfolio management arrangements; including procedures, guidance notes and governance structures.
•    Support the Delivery Assurance and Governance Lead in Assurance meetings, deep dives, collaterals and plan reviews.
•    Assure and oversee Programme/Projects risks and issues management, assumptions and dependencies, supporting Programme/Project managers identifying root causes and recovery plans. 
•    Regularly attend ARB, ensuring supporting documentation is available in advance of the Board and attendances, actions, decisions and minutes are recorded and distributed, and status monitored and updated.
•    Support Portfolio governance activities by providing a secretariat to the Portfolio Control Group.

 

The Skills

 

•    Solid analytical skills, with the ability to interpret multiple sources of complex data to draw conclusions and derive recommendations.
•    Demonstrable experience of interacting with multiple projects across different delivery stages.
•    Experience of managing a range of stakeholders and able to demonstrate a successful record of accomplishment in influencing and negotiating 
•    Ability to work across and respect cross-cultural sensitivity
•    Develop and maintain effective stakeholder management skills.
•    Ability to multitask and respond quickly to changing situations.
•    Ability to clearly present and explain complex information in both verbal and written form.
•    Project management skills, with clear knowledge of project and programme delivery methodologies.
•    Ability to inspire, motivate and work with a team of skilled IT professionals, made up of internal and contract staff.
