The Opportunity

EDF and Framatome have come together to establish the joint venture Edvance, an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) company established in 2018 in charge of the design and realisation of nuclear islands for new projects around the world. As the leading business of the French nuclear industry, it aims through its objectives and challenges of economic competitiveness and performance, to position itself sustainably in nuclear markets internationally and those of the renewal of the French fleet. 


Edvance UK is responsible for delivering the design for several NI (Nuclear Island) buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C project.


We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Contract Manager to join Edvance, taking responsibility for large contracts related to civil engineering design.

 

The Role

 

As a Contract Manager, you will report to the Contracts Team Lead and Civils Group Leader and take responsibility for large civil engineering contracts, specifically related to the production of design drawings and models. You will oversee all commercial aspects of the contract, work with the Project Manager to ensure that the technical specifications are adhered to by the contract holder, and guarantee that the contract runs to the planned schedule, cost and quality. You will hold a key relationship with the contract holder, and additionally act as an interface between the civil engineers, scheduling and cost control teams, as well as working with the Responsible Designer’s Project Management Office (PMO).


Specifically, you will be accountable for:


•    Leading contractual discussions and clarifications
•    Preparing, reviewing and analysing Early Warnings and Compensation Events
•    Organising and running weekly change meetings
•    Reviewing and validating monthly payment applications
•    Developing and improving contracts tools
•    Delivering financial and progress reports
•    Risk management
•    Stakeholder management
•    Carrying out financial audits
•    Recording and implementing lessons learned from previous projects and contracts

The Skills

 

You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

 

•    Degree or similar qualification in contract/ commercial management or related discipline, or equivalent experience
•    Contract management experience in the nuclear sector or another heavily- regulated industry (aviation, oil & gas, rail, etc)
•    Experience of NEC3 or similar target price contracts
•    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


Desirable:


•    Project management experience and/or qualification
•    Knowledge of Primavera P6 or Tekla
