Change Replication Lead

Aztec West, Bristol - with flexibility of working from home, minimum 3 days a week in the office.

Are you a qualified engineer? Do you have knowledge of design processes across multiple engineering disciplines in nuclear reactor design? Are you looking to develop your expertise in the exciting and challenging environment of nuclear new build? If so, come and join EDF as a Change Replication Lead!

The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Change Replication Lead, you'll oversee the implementation of the SZC replication strategy by working closely with the HPC Responsible Designer and monitoring HPC design changes to address replication challenges. Reporting to the Configuration Manager within the SZC Technical Directorate, you'll be part of the Configuration Management team, which is responsible for overall configuration management of the SZC design on the Nuclear Island, both during the Nuclear Service Agreement offer preparation and throughout the project's execution, ensuring the design's maturity and effective replication.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a starting salary from £52,000 and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll monitor HPC design changes from both the HPC RD backoffice and Joint Design Office, collaborating with Senior Architects to resolve replication issues.

Participating in Configuration Management forums, you’ll work with technical departments to evaluate the impact of changes on SZC replication.

You’ll ensure the change process aligns with the SZC replication strategy, properly tagging changes as needed.

Additionally, you’ll track and report on HPC design changes and related interfaces, integrate lessons learned from HPC and other EPRs into operational procedures, and support the Configuration Manager in improving design stability for effective replication.

Who you are

To excel in this role, you’ll need an engineering degree or equivalent and solid experience in nuclear reactor design, having worked in at least two different technical roles within the field.

You should bring strong technical expertise along with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Experience in managing complex projects with diverse teams is important, and a pragmatic, solution-focused approach to tackling technical challenges is key.

We’re looking for someone who can build strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and maintain high standards of safety and quality.

If this sounds like you then we’d love to hear from you!

Closing date for applications: 22nd September 2024
