A career that will deliver change. Together, we’ll help Britain achieve net zero.

The Opportunity

As an Assurance Improvement Manager, you will be principally responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of the existing Supply Chain Assurance approach being taken by the HPC Project, proposing and gaining approval for changes to this model, implementing these changes, and embedding them – including handover of any changes into business as usual for on-going management and delivery.

This role is essential to ensure that there is in place an effective cross functional Supply Chain Assurance model that is fit for purpose at this point in the HPC Project.

If this role sounds suitable for you why not consider working as a part of one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK. At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

The Role

As an Assurance Improvement Manager on the HPC project, your responsibilities will include but won’t be limited to the below;

•    Supporting the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) team in the development of Supplier Intelligence Reporting, and delivery of supplier reports as and when required
•    Within the context of Supplier Intelligence Reporting, defining how Supplier Assurance inputs are captured, collated, reported, and fed into the Supplier Intelligence Reporting model
•    Identifying both explicit and non-explicit requirements that HPC Suppliers are required to meet according to contracts
•    Working with peers across the HPC Project to identify which of these requirements are already assured or audited within the HPC Supply Chain, and where there are gaps in key assurance activities
•    Proposing and get agreement on how gaps in key assurance activities will be met in a proportionate manner
•    Identifying where overlaps and duplications exist and work with peers across the HPC Project to agree amendments in Supplier assurance to remove these
•    Identifying what aspects of Supplier assurance need to be undertaken by the Supply Chain Governance & Assurance team
•    Reviewing the existing Supplier Assessments approach in light of the above and propose any changes required to meet this need in a sustainable manner with available resources
•    Working with peers across the HPC Project, implement any proposals into business as usual

The Skills

•    Ability to identify areas for improvement, develop effective and implementable proposals, and drive through into business as usual (including business change and communication activities)
•    Ability to engage with individuals at all levels
•    A track record to coordinating individuals from across multiple teams to achieve a common goal – without direct line management responsibility
•    Excellent communication and report writing skills
•    Problem solver who can understand wider strategic context and is prepared to take ownership and work autonomously to deliver requirements which meet these aims

Competitive Salary & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn a bonus.

Please let us know if you require flexible working arrangements by highlighting this on your application.  We’re happy to talk flexibly in line with the requirements of this opportunity.
