Are you ready to play a vital role in one of Europe's most significant infrastructure projects?

Join us as a Quality Management Lead, where you'll ensure "Right First Time" delivery across the supply chain, driving excellence in quality for the Hinkley Point C project.

The Opportunity

EDF is at the forefront of the UK's Nuclear New Build Programme, constructing Hinkley Point C in Somerset, which when operational will provide low carbon electricity to 6 million homes in the UK.

As a Quality Management Lead (QML), in our Manufacturing Area, you'll be the go-to expert ensuring adherence to quality assurance and control standards.

You'll manage end-to-end quality, including accepting products and documentation post-manufacture, resolving non-conformances, and balancing quality and delivery to support project schedules.

Acting as the single point of contact for quality-related matters in your portfolio, you'll collaborate with contractors, oversee manufacturing surveillance, and drive improvements to meet project goals.

This is a unique chance to influence a critical energy project while working alongside industry leaders.

Pay, benefits and culture

Alongside a starting salary from £60,000 - £70,000 (negotiable depending on experience), and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include a range of benefits, from the big and formal to the small and personal.

We’re talking about everything from enhanced parental leave to electric vehicle leasing, health insurance to product discounts, critical illness insurance to technology vouchers, gym membership to season ticket loans.

At EDF UK, we embrace flexibility while recognising that everyone's working needs are different. Whether you're in our office spaces, on site, or working remotely, we promote an environment that supports collaboration, connection, and comfort. No matter where you are, our priority is to make sure you feel safe, valued, and celebrated.

Here, we do right by each other and everyone’s welcome. We’re on an action-oriented journey, championing equity, diversity, and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application. Please let us know if you need to request reasonable adjustments.

We take pride in fostering a dynamic and inclusive environment, where the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our employees drive fresh thinking and innovation. We understand that success means different things to different people. We believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we support you to pursue a career that’s unique to you. Because success is personal.

What you’ll be doing

  • Overseeing and ensuring supplier compliance with quality assurance and control requirements across all manufacturing stages.
  • Deciding on appropriate levels of surveillance for supplier deliverables and physical product inspections.
  • Managing the acceptance of products and quality documentation at the end of manufacturing, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Building strong relationships with the supply chain, including direct engagement with quality directors.
  • Prioritising and resolving non-conformances efficiently, balancing quality needs with delivery schedules.
  • Conducting manufacturing surveillance, ensuring adherence to welding and NDT testing techniques, and monitoring supplier Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Supporting the development of Project Quality Control Plans and overseeing the implementation of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Leading quality audits and ensuring processes are in line with best practices.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective delivery of quality.

Who you are

We’re looking for an experienced quality professional, ideally with expertise in mechanical systems, piping, fabrication, or steelwork. You bring a solid understanding of quality assurance and control, including welding, NDT testing techniques, and ISO 9001, with desirable audit experience.

Confident and articulate, you excel at building relationships with suppliers and influencing quality directors while balancing competing priorities. Analytical and detail-oriented, you are skilled in resolving non-conformances and implementing practical quality solutions that align with project schedules.

Flexible and proactive, you thrive in complex, multicultural environments and have a proven track record of delivering results.

With an engineering degree preferred (HNC minimum) and significant experience in managing quality for major projects, you are ready to lead quality excellence on a world-class initiative.

Closing date for applications: 18th December 2024. Please note that interviews will take place in January 2025.

Success is personal. It’s your journey, powered by us. Join us and we’ll help Britain achieve Net Zero, together.
