The Opportunity


Be part of one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.  


At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors (European Pressurised Water Reactor-EPR), the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes. 

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, HPC will make a major contribution to the UK’s move to reduce carbon emissions.  


We have a number of opportunities for experienced Planners to join us at Hinkley Point C. This is a great opportunity to join one of the largest construction projects in the world.

The Role


Working in the Planning Discipline of Integrated Project Controls, you will establish, develop and maintain project schedules/plans for either the Central Controls Team or one of the Programme Controls Teams. 


This will include the timely and accurate maintenance of the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in line with Hinkley Point C (HPC) processes, management of Level 3 (contract) schedules, and provision of time-related data and analysis. 


You will assist and support the Central Controls Team when required to ensure alignment with the Level 2 (client) IWS. Support EDF Energy in making informed decisions to support the efficient and timely delivery of work scope, it is the overarching objective of the Integrated Project Controls (IPC) Function to act as a centre of excellence. 


These roles will involve working in either the Central Controls Team or an integrated multi-disciplinary delivery team for one of the six Programmes;
•    Civils
•    Nuclear Island (Nuclear Steam Supply System and Instrument and Controls) 
•    Conventional Island (Turbine and Power Transmission) 
•    Equipment Manufacture and Qualification
•    Commissioning
•    Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC installation 


The scope of each individual role will vary depending on the area of responsibility. 

The Skills


•    10+ years construction/engineering experience working on large scale equipment manufacture
•    5+ years experience as a planner 
•    Able to extract/compare/analyse data 
•    Evidence of ability to develop scenario (what if) schedules 
•    Evidence of issue identification - resolution and mitigation 
•    Appropriate sustained experience over project lifecycle 
•    General understanding of Project Controls and the link between Schedule, Cost & Risk 
•    Knowledge of NEC (Preferred) 
•    Engineering qualification (Preferred)
