IT Project Manager, Permanent, Hinkley Point C, £45-55,000 dependant on experience + benefits

The Opportunity

 

EDF are leading the UK's nuclear renaissance, we’re constructing a new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C, with plans for new power stations at Sizewell C in Suffolk and Bradwell B in Essex.  Around a fifth of the UK's electricity is generated by our eight nuclear power stations, helping power our customers' homes and businesses. 

 

We have a new opportunity within Hinkley Point C in the Intelligent Customer Organisation (ICO), we are recruiting for an IT Project Manager. This is a key role within the team delivering multiple projects at any one time. 

 

Whilst the role will formally be based at HPC site, we practice a flexible work routine with employees expected to mix home working with a few days per week working from any local EDF office. 

 

As the IT Project Manager you will oversee Information Systems and Business Change projects which will include Infrastructure, Business Systems, and Business Change elements. These projects are enacted in a complex and fast-moving environment comprising both Construction Project and Nuclear regulations, can be multi-year in length and have a high project budget.
 

The Role

 

You will oversee and direct project teams staffed by third party Delivery Partners and will work very closely with third party Project Managers. 

 

As part of the role you will also have to engage actively with a wide range of stakeholders:
•    EDF Energy and EDF Group IT Departments to understand and align to EDF Energy standards and strategy in the Nuclear approach and to resolve escalated issues as needed
•    Internal Nuclear departments – to ensure compliance and understanding of business need and requirements
•    Government Authorities (including Local Councils, Central Government, Regulators) and third parties, as required
•    Governance bodies in order to resolve escalated issues and risks

 

You will be part of the ICO within the Nuclear Business Architecture team and will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects at any one time. The number of concurrent projects that you are responsible for at any one time will vary depending upon changing business needs but is not expected to exceed 4. 
 

 

The Skills

 

•    Conduct assurance reviews for stage containment
•    Demonstrates the planning, preparation, delivery of and evaluation of workshops with groups of stakeholders, to convey information, facilitate discussion, elicit information and reach consensus
•    Able to perform an Intelligent Customer Oversight role in their technical speciality throughout the project delivery lifecycle
•    Able to successfully lead and indirectly influence and manage third parties to perform to required standards and expectations
•    Able to scope clear project outcomes where objectives are not clearly defined or understood by stakeholders
•    Able to adapt and shows resilience to constantly changing requirements in a time driven environment
•    Able to make complex risk based decisions
•    Ability to actively drive collaboration forward across a programme of work with multiple delivery partners.
•    Is capable of coaching/mentoring others
•    Prince 2 Practitioner, APM or equivalent
•    Demonstrable experience of managing range of diverse complex projects of up to £1M in a heavily regulated industry is desirable
