The Opportunity


EDF Energy have an exciting new opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager Bridgwater working on Hinkley Point C nuclear power station, one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. 
 
As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and maintaining a current record of the external and internal factors that inform the requirements for NNB’s management system.  External factors include relevant legislation, regulations and standard, and EDF policies.  Internal factors include NNB policies and governance arrangements.  Overall, NNB’s management system should be consistent with best practice arrangements for large, complex major infrastructure design and construction projects. You will support the Quality Strategy Manager in acting as the gateway for the introduction of new and revised IMS procedures.  Your primary responsibilities be to define the requirements for the IMS and ensuring the requirements are integrated into the IMS processes and procedures. The IMS scope includes requirements of quality, health and safety, environment, information security and nuclear specific requirements. 

 

The Person

 

Day to Day Responsibilities: 

 

•    Implement and continual improve the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Strategy by means of the approved IMS implementation plan
•    Ensure the IMS addresses all relevant internal and external requirements and ensure they are captured in compliance matrices
•    Work closely with the Process Architects to ensure IMS procedures and supporting process architecture are maintained to meet the needs of the HPC delivery programme
•    Manage the team of IMS (Quality) Engineers who are responsible for facilitating audits by external certification bodies and Support IMS (Quality) Engineers in this facilitation and in maintaining appropriate relationships with the external certification bodies
•    Receive input from the NNB/HPC internal audit and independent assessment team, identifying opportunities for improvements to the IMS
•    Perform oversight of the process owners within the HPC organisation, reporting on their progress in maintaining and improving their local processes
•    Develop the internal integrated management system audit schedule which is based on a risk-based assessment of the IMS processes and procedures
•    Ensure the performance of the internal integrated management system audits to ensure audits are completed to-plan and deliver value to the HPC project

 

The Skills


You will be characterised by the following knowledge, qualifications and experience:

 

•    A clear and considerable understanding of quality management best practice for deployment by large, complex and contract-led organisations
•    Knowledge of National and International standards such as, ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
•    Knowledge of ‘what good looks like’ based on knowledge gained from partners and supply chain organisations integrated management systems
•    ONC/HNC or Degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent
•    Possess a recognised Quality qualification
•    Be qualified as a Lead Auditor with experience of completing supply chain audits

 

Desirable knowledge, qualifications and experience:

 

•    Knowledge of working within a regulated industry
•    Member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI)
•    Be qualified as a Lead Auditor with experience of completing supply chain audits
