Area Integration Lead

Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater (full time on site)

We are currently looking to recruit two Area Integration Leads who will ensure that there is a recommended sequence of installation of all scope across multiple contracts within their designated area; from manufacturing completion through to site construction, erection and commissioning which supports schedule integration. 


As Area Integration Lead, your primary objective will be to identify and eliminate issues to fully de-risk site activities. This will involve interfacing with the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Area Multi-Disciplinary Teams on the HPC project. 

To be successful you will need to use 3D and 4D tools, such as Navisworks and/or Synchro, and manage and analyse data via databases, excel and PowerBI.

What you’ll be doing…


The two areas they will be focusing on are: 


Balance of Plant 4: 

•    BOP4 has responsibility for delivering a number of Auxiliary Buildings including the Operational Service Building, Demineralised Water Station and associated tanks and the Auxiliary Boilers.  These buildings have interfaces with the sites network of technical galleries and also the buried networks. The area integration lead has responsibility for overseeing the integration of all construction activities associated with the construction and commissioning of these buildings and the systems they contain.  The area integration lead will need to coordinate construction activities and cooperate both with adjacent construction areas and between different contractors within the buildings to ensure that the facilities can be delivered in line with the site’s construction schedule. 
•    The civil construction of these facilities is well advanced and construction will move into the Mechanical and Electrical equipment installation phase.  For this role you should have experience of working on large multidiscipline projects and have a good understanding of plant and equipment installation and commissioning activities.

Balance of Plant 3: 


•    The BOP 3 area has responsibility for integrating Construction White Space and a number of structures including ~7km of Technical Galleries.  Consequently the Area needs to integrate its work across the site interfacing with the Nuclear Island, Conventional Island and the other Balance of Plant areas.
•    While the role currently has a strong civils focus the project is rapidly progressing towards the installation of the Mechanical and Electrical systems within the adjacent structures.  As such you should have a multidiscipline background with a good understanding of the logistics of a major construction site ensuring that access to buildings can be provided when required and that the associated roads and networks can be installed to meet the building and system requirements.


Who you are…


Specific knowledge, skills, qualification, and experience include:


•    Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Civil or Equivalent in Construction Management or related subject or a demonstrable level of experience based on years of experience and project assignments.
•    Strong experience in delivering highly complex projects.
•    Experience operating in a high security environment advantageous.
•    In-depth knowledge and experience of programme progress and forecast position and planning.
•    Strong communication skills in English required, knowledge of French can be an advantage.
•    Experience and understanding of working in a Nuclear and Safety Quality Culture.
•    Understanding and awareness of working in a highly regulated environment.
•    Ability to work collaboratively and in an integrated team environment.
•    Excellent organisational and communication skills.
•    Management of strategic planning, developing construction sequences and recovery plans.
•    Good working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction matters.
•    Ability to produce informative, concise reports.
•    Motivational approach and the ability to energise team members by building a climate of trust and understanding.
•    Awareness of project change control and risk management processes.
•    Extensive working knowledge in the delivery of large complex construction projects.



•    Experience of using solid modelling packages including Navisworks.
•    Understanding of project scheduling processes and tools.
•    Nuclear construction background.
