Overview

Our Employee Services team at EDF is the first point of call for any employee or manager when it comes to all HR queries and support. As such, the team is critical to supporting the business, line managers and employees in all things HR. We pride ourselves on providing our business with fast, high quality HR advice and being part of this team

This is a unique chance to spend your placement year working on robotics and automated processes, developed and delivered using UiPath software. Working in the Employee Services Performance Team you’ll be joining a team focused on designing, developing and delivering new processes.

Training

Most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from the teams you work in. You’ll also receive online training in UiPath to help you excel in the role.

Locations

You'll be based with our Employee Services HR Team in Crawley, Sussex.

Gill Foster is our Employee Services Performance Manager and will also be the line manager for this Industrial Placement. We asked Gill to tell us a little more about this opportunity:

This role is based in our Employee Services HR team, so what do we actually mean by Robotics in this context?

We are looking to introduce automation into our Payroll, Reporting, Recruitment and HR Case Management processes within Employee Services. We’ll achieve this by using a robotics software programme called UiPath.

Tell us more about the projects the successful candidate could get involved in:

We have 5 areas in Employee Services: Payroll, Reporting, Recruitment, Operations and Performance.  The successful candidate will get involved in developing robotics in each of these areas. This is a new concept in Employee Services and it’s an exciting time for an Industrial Placement to be involved as it will be this person who will be working with Process Owners to develop robotics/automation.

What kind of person would this opportunity suit?

This role involves working with key process owners so we’re looking for someone who can interact with a variety of people and interpret their requirements, in order to develop the best option for robotics.

An ability to learn new skills quickly is important as online training in UiPath will be provided. The placement will receive lots of support and guidance, however the successful candidate will need to take a logical approach and be comfortable working under their own initiative on this project.

Is there an opportunity to work with other business areas?

Yes. We’re currently working with the Finance Shared Services Robotics Team to develop shared robotics expertise and there may also be opportunity to work with the Customers Robotics team.
