Commercial at EDF Renewables

During the three years on this Renewables programme, you'll spend time across the business, developing your commercial understanding of the renewable energy industry and undertaking assignments to support the provision of commercial, strategic and analytical advice to internal stakeholders.

In years 1 and 2, this will include placements within our Strategy and Analysis and our Development teams. This will offer you exposure to key aspects of project development such as origination, project management and valuation, all of which is geared toward reaching investment decisions on wind, battery and solar assets.

Our Strategy & Analysis function is at the heart of what we do. The team continually look for ways that the organisation can make efficiencies to ensure competitiveness in the market and allow for project bids to be successful. The strategy of the business is created through the team over the short, medium and long-term to support financial investment decisions and to create market contracts, such as  corporate power purchase agreements with some big high street brands!

The Development function allows the business to realise its objectives. Driving forward ambitions created against the business strategy, the team is responsible for taking projects from concept through the development cycle to financial close and then acting as client throughout the construction phase. You'll see some exciting press releases on our website around a host of projects being commissioned by our development experts!

Finally, in year 3, you'll undertake an assignment which is tailored to your skills, knowledge and experience. This will ensure that your transition into the business post-scheme is seamless.

Training

We're passionate about your development during the graduate scheme and you'll be provided training that will help advance your skills, knowledge and behaviours across a number of areas.

We've designed the scheme to provide lots of development opportunities within your workplace assignments, where you’ll be given time to implement your learning back into the business within live projects. You'll have the chance to learn from others and build networks that will help you moving forward in your careers, with ample support, encouragement and guidance from your mentor and rotational line managers.

Where you could be based

You'll be based out of our state of the art offices in either Durham or Edinburgh with agile homeworking opportunities.
