What we're looking for

• You'll be studying a Maths, Data Analysis, Statistics, Data Engineering or related degree

• You’ll be on track to for a 2:1 undergraduate or 2:2 postgraduate degree

• You’ll have technical, analytical and communication skills

• Lots of initiative, business instincts and good people skills

• Desire to learn and develop your abilities

Overview

Blue Lab is EDF's innovation accelerator embedded within the Customers Business Unit. Blue Lab is creating a Data Acceleration Team (DAT) whose mission will be to create value from our data, to help us reach our ambition of being a fully data-driven company. The Data placement will join this team based in our Hove office in the South East.

During this placement you’ll work within an agile team of Engineers building highly resilient, scalable and performant data engineering and data science products in an automated and efficient manner. You’ll work alongside Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Big Data Application Developers, DevOps Engineers, and cross-functional IT teams.  This opportunity will offer you valuable experience in statistical research, data engineering and analysis, design of new algorithms and the application of statistical programming tools and techniques to large datasets.

Training

Most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from your mentor and the teams you work in. Some industrial placements come with opportunities for further technical training as needed.
