Commercial Industrial Placement

By working on our own current projects, you’ll develop new skills that will really drive business results and the future strategy of the company. You’ll get the chance to work on some of our immediate challenges, all the way from identifying what we need to address through to helping deliver the most appropriate and effective outcome. This might be by using new digital technologies or your knowledge of psychology to gain a real insight into the nuclear industry.

What we're looking for

• On track to achieve a 2:1 undergraduate or 2:2 postgraduate Science, Engineering, Maths, IT, Digital Design, Psychology or related degree

• A professional outlook and commercial awareness 

• Motivation, initiative and good people skills 

• Technical and analytical skills 

• A desire to learn and develop skills

• Willingness to relocate as required

Overview

On the Commercial Placement Scheme, you will use your own knowledge to work on current projects whilst developing new skills to drive results and future strategy.

Digital

Gain experience working on our digital channels which are already the principal customer contact route, and we aim to group digital’s volume, breadth and quality in line with our aim to place digital and date at the centre of activity. You will need to have an understanding of digital technologies as well as good data analytical skills to develop innovative ideas from beginning to end.

Data

The R&D Lab use data skills to analyse and act on data in today’s highly competitive energy market. You will get the chance to work on relevant and immediate business challenges with exposure to the full lifecycle from the identification of a challenge through to delivery of a business outcome.

Human Factors

The Human Factors team provide technical advice to the Company’s power stations and corporate functions on key safety and commercial issues to ensure continuous improved performance across stations. You will gain the opportunity to use your knowledge of psychology on real life situations whilst gaining an insight into the nuclear industry.

Training

Most of what you learn will be on the job, with support from your mentor and the teams you work in. Some industrial placements come with opportunities for further technical training as needed.
