Are you adept at multitasking and prioritising tasks to ensure project milestones are met efficiently and effectively?

 

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as our next Assistant Project Manager here at Hinkley Point C within the Main Civils Works Programme.

 

The Opportunity

 

As the Assistant Project Manager (APM), you'll be reporting directly to the Project Manager and be the driving force behind the successful completion of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and handover activities.

 

Your role is pivotal in ensuring that every step aligns with our overall project schedule, while prioritising safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll ensure that every detail is meticulously planned and executed to meet the project's needs.

What you will be doing…

 

As the Assistant Project Manager (APM), you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Project Manager in delivering the HPC project scope. You'll liaise with key teams within NNB and assist in developing and implementing management systems to ensure the quality of project outputs. Under supervision, you'll project manage document delivery for project milestones and maintain a comprehensive archive of project decisions. Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Supporting compliance with approved NNB procedures and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and recording meetings with project stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Facilitating internal communications within the Project Delivery Team and the wider HPC Project teams.

In this role, you'll be the right-hand person to the Project Manager, providing crucial support and assistance. As the Assistant Project Manager, you'll thrive in a dynamic and ever-evolving environment, where adaptability and composure under pressure are key. Your ability to navigate complex challenges with ease while maintaining confidentiality will be pivotal to our success. We’re also looking for you to:

 

  • Showcase excellent written and oral presentation skills, enabling effective communication and interaction with senior managers.
  • Demonstrate exceptional people management skills, fostering relationships, influencing, and collaborating within diverse, multidisciplinary groups.
  • Communicate a logical thought process with superb analytical skills, including proficiency in budget analysis and forecasting.
  • Thrive under pressure and within tight timeframes, maintaining composure and delivering results.
  • Excel in individual work with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in every task.
  • Possess a Degree or similar qualification in engineering, construction, or a related field. This is advantageous, though not essential.
