Knowledge Manager

The Opportunity

 

A Knowledge Manager is responsible for continuous learning initiatives both within a given site and across the fleet of sites in the T&T programme.

 

It is the responsibility of the Knowledge Manager to ensure that a systematic approach to Knowledge Management and learning, is deployed, throughout the Transition and Transfer Programme, ensuring that this is across the stations. You will ensure maximise efficiency and value by capturing explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge and promoting its use across the programme.

We can offer a competitive salary from £71,101 to 84,892 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

 

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Knowledge capturing and design
    • Knowledge Curation: Collaborate across workstreams, functions and stations to curate and organize knowledge resources, ensuring easy accessibility
    • Program Design and Management: Design, implement, and manage innovative learning programs to meet business and employee needs
    • Strategic Leadership: Drive the learning and development strategy, aligning it seamlessly with the T&T programme goals
    • Post Transfer effective review: Conduct post-Transfer assessment for each site to collate lessons learned and inform future T&T Programme approach
  • Knowledge management and dissemination
    • Adoption of best practices: Build and continuously update a repository of learnings and best practices to enhance organisational knowledge, utilising best practice knowledge management techniques, such as communities of practice.
    • Continuous Improvement: Highlight the commitment to continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating learning programs based on feedback, industry trends, and emerging best practices
    • Analytical Assessment: Use analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of learning initiatives and implement data-driven improvements
    • Technological Integration: Employ technology to enhance learning experiences and foster a continuous learning culture
  • Fostering a learning culture
    • Dynamic Learning Environment: Create and maintain a dynamic and inclusive learning environment within the T&T programme
    • Mentoring and Coaching: Lead by example, mentoring and coaching individuals, fostering a culture of growth and learning
    • Innovation and Excellence: Drive innovation, excellence, and talent development as a pivotal leader within the company.
  • Support for stations
    • Provides on-going coaching, mentoring and guidance to reinforce fundamental work practices and best practices and standardisation of these aspects within the function
    • Assists in focussed self-assessments, internal controls and benchmarking
    • Actively promotes the value of knowledge management, ensuring that tangible uses are captured, promoted and redeployed

 

 

Who you are

 

You will hold a HNC qualification as a minimum and have knowledge of sources of information for the Nuclear Industry and best practice standards.

 

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience of implementing facilitation and arbitration.

 

You will be a strong leader with a background within a nuclear power station environment or similar industry.

 

You will have experience of typical industry Organisational Learning processes and performance improvement processes, ideally having been involved in Peer Evaluations, or with exposure to overseas utilities or equivalent high performing industries.
